The last four years have been traumatic for the family of Mrs. Julianna Akamagwuna, a businesswoman who has been diagnosed with cancer.
She has been rendered invalid by the ailment and can no longer go about her normal activities without aid. She has been crying and begging God to rescue her from the hands of this disease that has been ravaging her.
Her family has exhausted all their resources towards her treatment and Mrs. Akamagwuna is seeking financial assistance from well-meaning Nigerians so that her life will not be cut short and she can contribute her quota to make the world a better place.
The woman, who spoke faintly in excruciating pain over the weekend, told our correspondent: “I want to live. I know that I still have more than three decades to live, if only people can help me to treat the breast cancer that is eating me raw, which will cost N8 million, and my family cannot afford it.
“My husband is a businessman who cannot afford such an amount of money. My family cannot afford the money either. We have sold everything, including landed property, but all that we have been able to raise ended in failed treatment.”
As it is, she needs over N8 million to treat breast cancer.
She has, therefore, sent a save-our-soul asking Delta State Governor, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori; the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Senator Ned Nwoko; corporate organisations, Ubulu-Uku indigenes, Anioma people and all well-meaning Nigerians to come to her rescue.
Mrs. Akamagwuna, a native of Ubulu- Unor, in Aniocha-South Local Government Area of Delta State, needs urgent financial support and prayers so that she will not die.
According to Mrs. Akamagwuna, she is facing excruciating pains that she won’t wish on her enemy, which will continue until she is able to raise the sum of N8,000,000 for treatment.
On her hospital bed, Mrs. Akamagwuna said: “I wish to inform the good people of Nigeria that I am facing death because of lack of finance. My husband and my family have expended all we have to sustain me. I have been down for four years, praying to God that succour would come, but it seems that nothing is changing, except Nigerians help me and do not let me die. I am still very young and I know that God can use you people to make me live again. My being alive today shows that God wants me to live.
“The cost of staying alive is now way beyond my family’s means. I, therefore, seek your help, dear brothers and sisters, to surmount this terrible illness. Please, don’t let me die.”
Her husband, Mr. Augustine Akamagwuna, in his appeal, said he was seeking financial assistance to treat his wife, Julianna, who is presently battling breast cancer.
“She was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2020 at the National Hospital, Abuja, where we immediately commenced treatment at the Oncology Clinic. She underwent 13 sessions of chemotherapy and 10 sessions of radiotherapy throughout 2021.
Unfortunately, following these treatments, her condition worsened significantly, leading to a 21-day admission.
” During this period, she was placed on platelet concentration transfusions; five doses, each costing ₦231,000, amounting to a total of ₦1,155,000. It was during this admission that her doctors informed us that surgery was no longer possible as the cancer had already spread.
“She was later discharged and placed on a specialised diet. Sadly, in February 2025, the cancer resurfaced with greater severity. We returned to the National Hospital, where she is currently receiving care at the Oncology Clinic.”
The most recent medical reports reveal that the cancer has now spread to her spinal cord and lungs. (This particular recent report is not attached because the result came on CD, and the hospital cannot release the printed copy for now).
“Her doctors have recommended a new course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, estimated to cost ₦4.5 million, excluding other necessary drugs and additional unforeseen expenses.
“Tragically, I lost my job in 2023, and since then we have been surviving solely by the grace of God. We are currently unable to commence this crucial next phase of treatment due to a lack of funds and as each day passes the disease continues to progress.
“Attached to this appeal are copies of the histology report, cardiovascular report, and a few receipts of expenses incurred thus far, both then and now.
“I sincerely plead for your financial support to help save my wife’s life. Any assistance you can provide will make a tremendous difference in this desperate time.

He is also sending an SOS to the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, Delta State Governor, senators, corporate bodies, religious organizations and private individuals to come to their rescue.
