The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has moved the debut edition of its Public Relations, Reputation, Ideas, Concepts and Excellence (PRICE) Awards and Prizes from the earlier scheduled date of December 7, 2025, to a new date—January 25, 2026.
According to the Institute, the adjustment became necessary to ensure full participation, as many key stakeholders have already begun activities associated with the Christmas season.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Israel Opayemi, urged all partners, invited guests and practitioners to note the revised date. He said the event is designed to inspire practitioners, academics, and professionals across the communication industry, while reinforcing Nigeria’s standing in the global public relations space and boosting the NIPR’s brand value.
Opayemi reaffirmed the Committee’s resolve to deliver a top-tier awards ceremony when it eventually holds in January.
The PRICE Awards were conceptualised as a credible and lasting platform for recognising exceptional individuals, organisations and campaigns that are redefining public relations practice in various sectors. Progress on the project accelerated in September 2025 when NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, set up a 12-member committee to plan the inaugural edition.
The committee’s inauguration followed the Council’s approval of recommendations submitted by a technical team responsible for developing the framework for the new awards scheme.
