Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, by N30, lowering the price from N850 to N820 per litre. The price cut takes effect from today, August 12, 2025.
In a statement, the company emphasized its ongoing commitment to national development and the Nigerian people, reassuring consumers of a consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products despite fluctuating global market conditions.
“As part of our unwavering commitment to national development, Dangote Petroleum Refinery assures the public of a reliable and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products,” said Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer.
In addition to the price reduction, Dangote Petroleum Refinery also unveiled plans to enhance fuel distribution across Nigeria. Starting from August 15, 2025, the company will begin the phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel delivery across the country. This move aligns with Dangote’s dedication to sustainable energy solutions and operational excellence, contributing to reducing the carbon footprint of fuel distribution.
The initiative signals the company’s broader strategy to support environmental sustainability and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on conventional fuel-powered vehicles for logistics and transportation.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery, one of the largest in Africa, continues to make significant strides in transforming Nigeria’s energy sector, with a focus on both affordability and sustainability.
