The organisers of the Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards (SHA) have officially opened nominations for the 8th edition of the prestigious Silent Heroes Award, scheduled to hold on June 25, 2026, in Abuja.
The high-profile ceremony is expected to take place mid-year at the Calton Luxurious Hotel, Asokoro, by 5:00pm, bringing together dignitaries, professionals, and development champions from across the country.
The award initiative, which focuses on celebrating “Silent Icons,” is designed to honour individuals whose contributions to national development often go unnoticed.
According to the organisers, the awards seek to spotlight Nigerians who have consistently demonstrated excellence, integrity, and selfless service in various sectors.
Founder of Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards, Odita Sunday, described the initiative as a platform to “recognise heroes who work quietly but impact lives loudly.”
He explained that nominations are now open to members of the public, who are required to send the name of nominees alongside their landmark achievements and pictures via SMS to 08033254636.
“We believe that greatness does not always come with noise. Many Nigerians are doing extraordinary things without publicity, and this platform exists to honour them,” Odita said.
Categories for the 2026 edition cut across policing and intelligence, human rights advocacy, journalism, image management, business and enterprise, politics, medicine, motherhood, faith, and governance.
Other categories include ICT and tech development, public service, transparent banking culture, tourism, private security, aviation, SME development, and military image management.
Additional areas of recognition also cover agriculture, oil and gas, maritime and blue economy, real estate, shipping, and human resource management.
The organisers noted that the diversity of categories reflects the broad scope of national development and the need to reward excellence in every sector.
The Silent Heroes Award Initiative has over the years gained credibility as one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms for celebrating silent achievers.
Stakeholders have been urged to take advantage of the nomination window to ensure deserving individuals are adequately recognised.
The 2026 edition is expected to attract top government officials, industry leaders, and international observers.
Organisers expressed confidence that the event would further strengthen the culture of integrity, patriotism, and service in Nigeria.
