The Lagos State Police Command has summoned Pastor Chris Okafor, the senior pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, in connection with allegations bordering on rape, other sexual misconduct, and acts capable of disturbing public order.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, the cleric was directed to report to the SCID by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026. The statement noted that the invitation followed the delivery of an official police letter through his legal counsel.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the SCID to ensure that the investigation is carried out diligently, professionally, and without bias. The allegations, according to the police, involve serious offences under the law.
As part of precautionary measures, the Command disclosed that adequate security has been provided for individuals who lodged the complaints. Members of the public with useful information relating to the case were also encouraged to assist the investigation.
The Police further assured that the identities of complainants and witnesses would be protected, emphasizing that the investigation would be conducted strictly in line with the law, without prejudice or consideration of social standing.
