Business Director at mediaReach OMD, Emmanuel Adediran, has been appointed as a jury member for the 2026 Purpose Awards, becoming the first professional based in Nigeria and the West and Central Africa (WeCA) region to join the panel.
The Purpose Awards EMEA, organised by Haymarket Media Group in collaboration with Campaign, PRWeek and Third Sector, recognise organisations and campaigns that promote social impact through purpose-led communication.
The awards feature 33 categories spanning charity, environmental sustainability, equality and public awareness, with six categories dedicated to charities and non-governmental organisations.
Adediran’s appointment reflects the increasing visibility of African professionals in global marketing and communications platforms focused on social change.
The judging panel is made up of industry leaders from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, selected based on their experience and contribution to purpose-driven initiatives.
Speaking on the appointment, Adediran described the selection as an opportunity to contribute African perspectives to the evaluation of global social impact campaigns, noting that innovation from Nigeria and the wider African region continues to gain international recognition.
According to the organisers, the shortlist for the 2026 Purpose Awards will be announced in April, while winners will be unveiled at the awards ceremony scheduled for June. Entries will be assessed by a panel of judges drawn from across the EMEA region.
Deputy Editor of PRWeek, Siobhan Holt, said purpose-led campaigns have become increasingly important amid economic pressures and ongoing political and social challenges, adding that the awards provide a platform for organisations to demonstrate leadership in this area.
The organisers also disclosed that additional judges have been added to the panel ahead of the 2026 edition to strengthen the evaluation process.
