Justice Oyindamola Ogala of a Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on Monday has remanded Wasiu Akinwande, also known as Olori Eso and two others for alleged murder.
The defendant was arraigned alongside Qudus Egbere, and Sola Edun Tomiwa.
They were charged on a five-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, murder and belonging to unlawful society.
The offences are contrary to Sections 223 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 and the Unlawful Societies and Cultism (prohibition) Law of Lagos State, 2021.
The Lagos State Government charged the defendants to court on an amended information dated November 10, 2025.
During their arraignment, Counsel to State prosecutor A. O Azeez told the court, “We filed an ammended charge this morning.”
The defendants were represented by their counsel, Olanrewaju Ajanaku.
When the charge was read to them, they all pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, Counsel to the second defendant orally requested that the second defendant allowed to continued on administrative bail, the court declined and urged her to file a bail application.
Part of the charge reads: “That you; Qudus Egbere, Wasiu Akinwande, and others now at large on 31st Day of July, 2024 at about 1100 hours at Moshalashi Street, Mushin in the Lagos State in the Ikeja Judicial Division conspired to commit felony to with murder of Bolanle Yusuf.
“That Qudus Egbere, Wasiu Akinwande, and others now at large on 31st Day of July, 2024 at about 1100 hours at Moshalashi Street, Mushin Lagos State in the Ikeja Judicial Division conspired to commit felony with murder of Yusuf Ramadan.
“That Qudus Egbere, Wasiu Akinwande, and others now at large on 31st Day of July, 2024 at about 1100 hours at Moshalashi Street, Mushin in the Lagos State in the Ikeja Judicial Division conspired to commit felony killed Bolanle Yusuf by using matchete and gun.
“That Qudus Egbere, Wasiu Akinwande, and others now at large on 31st Day of July, 2024 at about 1100 hours at Moshalashi Street, Mushin in the Lagos State in the Ikeja Judicial Division conspired to commit felony killed Yusuf Ramadan by using matchete and gun.
Qudus Egbere, and Sola Edun Tomiwa and others now at large on 31st Day of July, 2024 at about 1100 hours at Moshalashi Street, Mushin in the Lagos State in the Ikeja Judicial Division belonging to unlawful societies to wit Eiye Confraternity.
Following the remand order by the court, the state prosecutor asked the court for a trial date.
Justice Ogala thereafter adjourned the matter till January 19, 2026 for commencement of trial.
